Today we have the third part of this seven-part series of pictorial Malacca. The photographs presented show the famous Malacca Clock Tower. This part of the historic city definitely has historical significance as it was actually built by the Dutch when they were the rulers. The buildings surrounding the Tower are known as the Stadhuys. This was built in 1650 as the official residence of the Dutch governors and their officials. The buildings are preserved in its original state. Part of it is now occupied as the Historic Museum. They are painted red as it is believed this was the original color of when the Dutch left the city.
Hope these photos have stirred your interest to make the Historic City your next destination. Bring your family along as it has plenty to offer, especially for the children.
