Malacca with All Its Uniqueness!-Part 6
In Malacca, Malaysia, beauty, family, photography, tourism on May 22, 2009 at 5:43 pm
Besides the Eye-on-Malaysia, the state government has also built a revolving tower (called the Menara Taming Sari) to cater for the tourists. This draws in good crowds during the holidays, proving it is popular with the tourists. Like the Eye-on-Malaysia, it offers a good view of the City. You can practically take in the view of the whole City as there are very few tall buildings to block your view. Read the rest of this entry »

Display of Emotions – the ulgy and the beautiful!
In Behavior, Children, feelings, mother, prayers on May 13, 2009 at 3:15 amIn this short clip many emotions are displayed – it starts with the opening where the bear cub was frolicking around in a wide open space (enjoying a few care-free childhood moments), there was a moment of high expectation on the part of the lioness (dream of a full meal), the lioness sized up her odds of overpowering the cub (survival of the biggest and strongest), then the sense of impending danger (instinctive response), the fear Read the rest of this entry »

Malacca with All Its Uniqueness!-Part 3
In Dutch, Malacca, Malaysia, family, photography, tourism on May 4, 2009 at 3:58 pmToday we have the third part of this seven-part series of pictorial Malacca. The photographs presented show the famous Malacca Clock Tower. This part of the historic city definitely has historical significance as it was actually built by the Dutch when they were the rulers. The buildings surrounding the Tower are known as the Stadhuys. This was built in 1650 as the official residence of the Dutch governors and their officials. The buildings are preserved in its original state. Part of it is now occupied as the Historic Museum. They are painted red as it is believed this was the original color of when the Dutch left the city. Read the rest of this entry »
Malacca with All Its Uniqueness-Part 2
In Malacca, Malaysia, beauty, harmony, photography, tourism on May 3, 2009 at 7:44 amThe first part of this pictorial series I posted a few snapshots of the Flora de la Mar. This is a replica of a Portuguese ship which sunk carrying loots from Malacca to Portugal. For part two, I will now post some photographs of the Water Wheel. This is a relatively new feature built for the tourists. The Dutch had once conquered and ruled Malacca in the past. This, I supposed, is to reflect this part of its history. On the Serendipity Hopeful’s Photo section, at the bottom of my blog, I’ve posted about thirty varieties of flowers from the United Kingdom. As I only know how to appreciate the beauty they radiate and are ignorant of their names, i did not put in any caption or tag them.
